Quantum particles can cross barriers they should not have enough energy to cross
In quantum physics, a particle can sometimes appear on the other side of an energy barrier even when it does not have enough energy to cross it in ordinary physics. This effect, called quantum tunneling, helps make radioactive decay and fusion inside stars possible.
