Hatena can turn a swallowed alga into a photosynthetic partner

After swallowing a green alga, Hatena keeps it alive as a symbiont. Hatena then gains movement toward light and loses its feeding apparatus, shifting from predator to photosynthetic host while the alga remains alive inside it.
