Radio stations once broadcast software you could record onto a cassette

In the early home-computer era, programs were often stored as sounds on cassette tapes. Some radio stations broadcast those sounds directly over the air. Listeners recorded the transmission, then played the tape into their computers to load a program. Software could literally arrive through a radio broadcast before internet downloads existed.
