split brain corpus callosum picture naming left hand

A split brain can separate seeing from speaking

Surgeons may cut the band joining the brain’s two halves to reduce severe epileptic seizures. Afterward, the halves can handle some information separately: a person may name a picture shown to the right of their gaze but not one shown to the left. The left hand can indicate the picture shown on the left, even when the person cannot name it.
