Mehrgarh’s farming may not have been imported

Mehrgarh, a site in South Asia, shared cultural similarities with sites in the Near East. But evidence suggests barley and zebu cattle were domesticated locally, so those similarities do not mean farming was simply brought in from elsewhere.

In most octopus species, the body begins to break down after reproduction. Males weaken after mating, while females do so after laying their eggs. They stop eating, become weak, develop sores, and eventually die.

The Inca were already weakened when the Spanish arrived

Before the Spanish conquest, a war between Huáscar and Atahualpa had split the Inca Empire. Diseases that had spread from Central America weakened it further. One outbreak in the 1520s may have killed Emperor Huayna Capac and many other people.
