Ancient Egyptians used meteoric iron thousands of years before the Iron Age

Nine iron–nickel beads from burials at Gerzeh date to about 3200 BC, thousands of years before the Iron Age. They were probably shaped by hammering and annealing, showing that people worked meteoric iron long before smelted iron became common.
