The Iron Age did not begin when people first used iron
Finding a few iron objects is not enough for archaeologists to call a society Iron Age. The change is usually dated to when smelted iron, especially steel tools and weapons, became common enough to replace bronze. Because this happened at different times in different places, there is no single worldwide start date.
