Naked mole-rats manage heat by moving or huddling
Unlike most mammals, naked mole-rats let their body temperature rise and fall with the surroundings. They huddle when cold and move to cooler, deeper burrows when hot. At 29 °C or above, their temperature control shifts toward the steady pattern seen in many mammals.
