Jellyfish blooms can slow fish recovery
Large jellyfish blooms can make it hard for depleted fish populations to recover. Jellyfish eat fish eggs and larvae and compete with fish for food. Overfishing can also remove predators of jellyfish larvae, helping jellyfish become dominant.
