An axolotl has ten times more DNA than a human
About 10× Human Genome Size
An axolotl’s genome is roughly ten times the size of ours, yet it contains a similar number of protein-coding genes. Much of the difference comes from long stretches of repeated DNA. A bigger genome does not necessarily mean more genes—or a more complicated organism.
