Even the space station meets air resistance
The International Space Station orbits 370–460 km above Earth, well beyond the conventional 100-km boundary of space. Yet the atmosphere there creates enough drag that the station needs a boost every few months. About 99.99997% of Earth’s atmospheric mass lies below that boundary.
