A flytrap can remember a weak touch

One stimulus to a trigger hair may be too weak to close the trap. But if a second calcium influx arrives within about 30 seconds, the combined signal can reach the threshold for closure. The temporary memory comes from changing calcium levels in the cytoplasm, not from a brain.
