Moon jellyfish reuse energy from each pulse
A moon jellyfish does not rely only on the push from each contraction. As water swirls around its relaxing bell, some of that energy gives the jellyfish another push forward. This energy recovery lets it travel about 30% farther with each swimming cycle.
